About the IOHA

The IOHA

'Irish' Handball (which is played with a small blue ball and some walls).
The IOHA is active in developing handball at all levels and age groups in Ireland.
The aim of the Association is:
"To become a strong, vibrant and modern National Sports Association identified with the following:
The promotion of Olympic Handball for all;
The organisation and facilitating of handball competitions at all
levels - local, national & international;
The provision of appropriate tailored technical handball training in coaching, rules and refereeing;
While operating as a democratic, transparent organisation
encouraging fair play for all"
The mission statement of the association is:
"The Irish Olympic Handball Association will promote the game of
handball in Ireland at all levels, supporting the needs of its players,
coaches and officials through the provision of appropriate training and
competitions, while all the time operating in a transparent, fair and
democratic way."
Strategy
The IOHA, with assistance from the Irish Sports Council, is currently rolling out its 5 year strategy which will run until 2007.
Code of Practice
We are signed up to the Safety for children in sport program, and the anti-doping regulations as published by the Irish Sports Council.
